Thanks to the growing presence of dash cameras in vehicles on our roads, we’re treated to loads of wild videos on a regular basis these days – many of them involving some sort of crash or other type of incident. This includes police chases and often, the aftermath of those pursuits, which can typically end in shocking fashion – whether the perpetrator is stopped by a ramming police car or some other type of obstacle. Recently, a police chase came to a scary end of its own when a Ford Super Duty smashed into a squad car and demolished it in the process.
This incident happened in Trotwood, Ohio, according to Fox 19 News, after police were called due to a reported assault. When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they found the daughter of 54-year-old James Skirvin, of Venice, Florida, who stated that her father ran over her with his Ford Super Duty. While police were trying to figure out what was going on, Skirvin proceeded to drive by and point a firearm at the officers, and they opted to pursue him, as one might imagine.
Skirvin took off at a high rate of speed into traffic, trying to avoid being detained, but that all came to an abrupt end when his Ford Super Duty hit a police vehicle head-on with such force that the truck wound up on top of the SUV, as we can see in this shocking video. As one might imagine, both Skirvin and the officer in that squad car suffered critical injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Now, Skirvin is facing a litany of charges including six counts of felonious assault on a police officer, plus one count of discharge of a firearm on nor near prohibited premises, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, vehicular assault, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle, and aggravated possession of drugs. This isn’t his first run-in with the law either, as in early 2024, he was also indicted on counts of felonious assault and domestic violence for the assault of his daughter.

I guess Skirvin will be out of the running for Father of the Year! Wow.
