The Ford Edge was officially discontinued for the North American market when production of the long-running crossover ended last year, which is tough news for folks that appreciate a practical, reliable, and affordable mode of transportation. There may still be a few new Edges lulling on dealer lots, but for the most part, those shopping for one will likely be forced to look at the used vehicle market these days. There, the Ford Edge continued to be a popular target for shoppers throughout the course of 2024, too.
According to iSeeCars’ latest list of the most popular used vehicles in the U.S. – this time, for 2024 – the Ford Edge ranked as the 22nd most popular of all after accounting for 0.9 percent of the entire market. That places the Ford Edge behind the the first-place Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado, Ram 1500, Chevy Equinox, Toyota Camry, Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Rogue, the Ford Explorer, Toyota RAV4, Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Honda CR-V, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Altima, the Ford Escape, and a handful of other models.
To come up with these rankings, iSeeCars analyzed over 7.7 million used car sales from the last five model years (2019-2023) in 2024. Each model’s share of used car sales was calculated nationally, as well as within each metro area and state. Heavy-duty vehicles were excluded from the analysis.
As Ford Authority previously reported, the Ford Edge has racked up its fair share of accolades as a used model, including landing on the lists of the safest and most reliable used three-year-old vehicles on the market, one of the most reliable three year old vehicles, and one of the least expensive vehicles to maintain by Consumer Reports, as well as one of the best 10-year-old and five-year-old vehicles for the money by iSeeCars, too. Add to that fact that the Edge can be had in gently used condition for pennies on the dollar these days, and it’s no surprise the crossover continues to prove popular in that regard.

The Ford Edge is another great car that should not have met it’s end. I have people asking about the Edge all the time. Easiest car to step in and out of without hurting your back. Have you ever noticed just how many other cars copied the looks of the Ford Edge. We finally produced a car that was a hit that everyone else copied.
My first leased vehicle was a 2011 Edge SEL. I was hooked from then on. I’ve had a 2013, 2016, 2019, 2022 and now a 2024. Great ride and handling. I’m not sure what I’m going to lease after this goes back in 2028. May buy this one outright.
I was deeply disappointed to hear that ford had discontinued making the edge. I have owned several edge vehicles and absolutely loved every one of them, upgrading with each new one. I was needing to upgrade last year, but just couldn’t get past the absolutely disgusting interior colors (the ugliest 2-tone interior), so I purchased an suv from a different manufacturer and I hate it. It’s like a serious down grade with none of the features that I always had in my previous edges. I am hoping that ford realizes that the edge was a huge money maker and will return to production of this vehicle.
Good luck changing out the water pump. It’s internal to the engine. It’s a long, complicated, expensive job. The word in the repair community is that newer cars are overly complicated and not built to go past 100,00.
