Ford F-150 Pits Itself After Rapid Lane Change: Video

Dashcams are gaining popularity worldwide, providing video proof of crashes that might otherwise seem too unbelievable without footage. If they’re crazy enough, some of these videos go viral online, just like this one from Ontario, Canada, which shows a Ford F-150 poorly executing a lane change, pitting itself in the process before turning side-over-side almost six times.

The video, which was posted to the r/Roadcam community on Reddit, shows the cammer traveling straight on a multilane highway when a red Ford F-150 suddenly approaches from the lane to the left. Without a turn signal, the F-150 cuts in front of the cammer, and the two cars make contact as the cammer’s nose slams into the pickup’s right rear quarter panel.

The F-150 spins across the cam car’s nose, careening toward a pole on the grass median as the right-side tires begin to lift into the air. It’s all over after that. The red Ford F-150 goes over on its side, flipping onto its roof in the middle of an intersection. Wood goes flying from the pickup’s bed as it loses whatever it was carrying before it rolls almost six more times in dramatic fashion.

Finally, the doomed Ford F-150 rolls into a parking lot, coming to a rest on its side with its undercarriage in full view. It appears that almost all of its airbags deployed in the crash. Luckily, there weren’t any pedestrians in the intersection when it rolled, and it doesn’t look like it struck any parked cars when it landed. Unfortunately, there’s no further information on the incident, so it’s unclear if the driver escaped unscathed.

It’s also unclear which vehicle was at fault, but it appears that they might both shoulder some of the blame. It’s hard to tell if the Ford F-150 simply didn’t see the cammer or was being aggressive, but the cammer did not decelerate to lessen the impact.

A few months ago, another dashcam video showed two Blue Oval vehicles slamming together when a Ford Bronco struck a Ford Explorer after a failed lane change.

  1. If you look closely the cammer actually sped up. Sometimes it takes two idiots to cause an accident. Why not give way when not doing so will wreck your car? Stupid.

  2. THIS.⬆︎ The cam car will probably be found mostly at fault if it can be proven that they intentionally sped up. On the other hand, the pickup is new enough to have BLIS and could have avoided the crash by continuing straight. As a pit maneuver, that was more spectacular than the ones on the cop cam videos!
