Ford Mexico Announces Personnel Changes For Marketing Divisions

Ford Mexico has faced its fair share of executive shakeups recently, starting with naming a new president and CEO of Ford Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America, and the Caribbean – Lucien Pinto – who replaced the retiring Luz Elena del Castillo last August. Then, in November, Eduardo Alonzo, Director of Customer Service at Ford Mexico, opted to retire and was replaced by Blue Oval veteran Sebastián Casanova. Now, Ford Mexico has announced some additional personnel changes in its marketing divisions, too.

William Vélez, Lincoln Director, Ford Mexico.

Ford Mexico has appointed William Velez as the new Director for Lincoln Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America, and the Caribbean, and Elizabeth Lopez as Marketing Director in its latest moves. Velez – currently the Marketing Director for Ford Mexico – has more than 17 years of experience in the automotive industry, 12 of them within The Blue Oval, after he began his career in Colombia as Product Manager in the marketing department. Later, Velez became the Regional Marketing Manager for South America, where he developed the first active brand strategy for five different markets, after which he entered his current role one year ago.

As for Lopez, she has 13 years of automotive industry experience – much of it within the Marketing and Sales area of Ford Mexico, where she began her professional career after graduating from college. Lopez started out as a Marketing and Research Analyst, later becoming the Marketing Coordinator for Motorcraft, and she was also part of Lincoln as Consumer Manager for Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Lopez returned to Ford as Brand Manager for the SUV segment, but soon became the Brand Group Leader of Ford Performance, Vehicles and Technology, a position in which she served for three years. Lopez also spent time as the Communication and Marketing Strategy Manager for Ford Mexico, too, and will now move to take on more responsibility within The Blue Oval.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
