Ford Mustang Driver Loses Control After Botched Left Turn: Video

The Ford Mustang is easily one of the most iconic vehicles to ever exist, and The Blue Oval is celebrating 60 years since the very first pony car debuted right now. While we’d argue that most Ford Mustang owners are competent drivers, there are enough out there that aren’t to give the model a rather unsavory reputation, a notion backed up by a seemingly endless stream of videos showing drivers making, well, poor decisions behind the wheel, which can oftentimes result in crashes. The latest example comes to us in this new clip, which shows a rather embarrassing incident involving an S197 generation Ford Mustang.

Posted to Reddit, this short video was provided by a semi driver, who was driving down the road at a mere 35 miles-per-hour when the Ford Mustang driver decided there was enough time to turn left in front of him. That was probably true, but in this case, the Mustang driver gave it a bit too much of the proverbial sauce and immediately lost control of the vehicle. The pony car proceeded to veer left, after which the driver overcorrected and turned sharply to the right, sending it sideways into a ditch.

At least this time around, no one else was injured and no other vehicles were damaged, but by now, we’re just so used to seeing Ford Mustang models crash in this manner that we’ve pretty much come to expect it. There’s just something about the combination of lots of power, rear-wheel drive, and inexperienced drivers that seems to keep causing Mustangs to crash in various ways – whether they’re street racing other vehicles, showing off for a crowd, or just doing some normal driving, as is the case here.

Thus, we propose that Ford Mustang owners who aren’t exactly skilled in the art of driving something like the iconic pony car at least learn how to do so safely, which can be accomplished in a number of ways, including attending a driving school. Heck, Team O’Neil, a driving school in New Hampshire, recently posted a video specifically outlining how Mustang owners can avoid crashing, which is certainly worth the watch.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
