Ford Motor Company has filed a patent for a Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally diecast model design, Ford Authority has learned.
The patent was filed on July 13th, 2023, published on January 7th, 2025, and assigned serial number D1056766.
The Ford Authority Take
The Ford Mustang Mach-E already exists in diecast form in many different variations, including as a New York City taxi cab, the Mach-E 1400 EV demonstrator, and the Mach-E Police pilot vehicle, to name just a few. Thus, it makes sense that a Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally might soon become the latest addition to that group, as we can see from this recent patent filing. This is particularly true given the fact that the Mach-E Rally is a real enthusiast-focused model that aims to give the EV crossover supreme high-speed off-road capability, too.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally debuted in 2023 as precisely that – a fun, rally-inspired machine that was developed in just a year after someone came up with the idea in a Blue Oval break room one day. The Mach-E Rally is easy to distinguish from the rest of the lineup thanks to its unique front fascia, fog lights, a hatch-mounted rear wing, stripes, a black-painted roof, and model-specific 19-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin CrossClimate2 all-season tires.
The Mach-E Rally also offers up plenty of juice – 480 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, in fact, from a pair of electric motors – one at each end, driving all four wheels. Underneath, the Rally’s copious amount of power is complemented by MagneRide shocks with specially-tuned springs for gravel and dirt adventures, a 0.8-inch suspension lift, 15.8-inch front brake rotors with Brembo calipers, and protective shielding for both motors, while a unique RallySport drive mode helps take advantage of those tweaks. Soon, it may be joined by its very own official diecast model as well, if this patent eventually comes to fruition.

… those “wheels” remind me so much of the LTD hubcaps back in the 70’s.
