Ford Mustang RTR Preview: Full Photo Gallery

Ford Performance racer Vaughn Gittin Jr. is the mastermind behind the company Ready To Rock (RTR), which is solely focused on the production and assembly of high-performance parts for the Ford Mustang and other models from The Blue Oval’s stable. Ford itself took notice of RTR’s successful builds, and is now partnering with the organization to bring the EcoBoost-powered S650 Ford Mustang RTR to market. Ford Authority is taking a closer look at the peppy pony in the following preview photo gallery.

The Ford Mustang RTR will be instantly recognizable among its “regular” counterparts thanks to its unique front end, with a wide grille and lower intake to help the engine breathe. It also gets unique triangular lights on either side of that grille, helping to differentiate it from the rest of the Mustang line. Its wrap sports a zebra-like pattern, reminiscent of WWI-era “zebra camo,” sure to turn heads and dazzle competitors while in motion.

RTR has multiple Formula Drift championship trophies in its case. Ford and RTR borrowed elements from the drift cars, bringing them to the Mustang RTR. Ford touts the new Mustang RTR EcoBoost as being “the most exciting enthusiast focused turbocharged Mustang ever.” In fact, it represents only the second time in the Mustang’s 60-year history that The Blue Oval has partnered with a third party to develop and market a performance variant of the muscle car.

Since it only debuted a few days ago, information about the Ford Mustang RTR are slim. However, images of the forthcoming pony reveal that it has a set of Hyper Lime Brembo brake calipers, and pedestal spoiler worthy of a drift car. It’s also likely to benefit from the automaker’s drift brake, ready to hang it all out around corners with just a pull of the lever.

The Ford Mustang RTR will be on display at the 2025 Detroit Auto Show this month alongside the just-unveiled Mustang GTD Spirit of America.

As a reminder, the Mustang RTR is positioned as a de facto replacement to the EcoBoost High Performance Package, which was dropped for the muscle car’s 2025 model year. In addition, it signifies that Ford is continuing to innovate with the Mustang, as The Blue Oval showed four-door and off-road-ready variants of the pony car to dealers last year in an apparent preview of what’s to come.
