As many are already well aware by now, the state of California is experiencing historic wildfires around Los Angeles that have already caused massive destruction, claiming a number of homes and businesses – not to mention the lives of more than a dozen individuals thus far. As it has done many times in the past, Ford plans to help folks impacted by these fires in a number of ways, which CEO Jim Farley alluded to just last week. Now, Ford has officially outlined its response to the California fires.
Our hearts continue to be with those affected by the devastating fires in Southern California. @Ford has always shown up for communities, and we are committed to supporting our partners as they help rebuild the impacted communities.

In a recent post on X, Farley announced that the automaker and Ford Philanthropy have launched a pair of new grants to support the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the California Community Foundation Wildfire Recovery Fund. The company’s philanthropic arm is also staying in touch with the Red Cross, Feeding America, and Team Rubicon, all of which are providing food and shelter for those in need. On top of this, Ford Credit has already agreed to offer a payment extension for affected customers.
“We will continue to do everything we can to help, and right now, our focus is on urgent, critical needs – that includes helping to ensure the firefighters and first responders who are risking their lives are cared for and supported,” Farley said. “Our thoughts are with the people of the greater Los Angeles area as they take on the long road ahead of them.”
“Helping communities recover and rebuild from disasters is not just what we do as a philanthropy, it’s who we are as a company,” said Mary Culler, president of Ford Philanthropy. “It’s heart-breaking to see the scale of how much people have lost. We will continue to support Southern California long after the current attention fades, as we are doing with other communities affected by disasters globally.”

I’m wondering what Ford Philanthropy did for the folks down in the Boone/Asheville area of NC. Whole towns were washed away. Those people have no homes, no electricity, no fresh water, etc …. Still !!! They are still looking for missing people. They are finding some buried under mud. Those people are freezing at night. How soon people have forgotten the devastation still taking place in NC. Mary Culler, can we find a way to send help to the homeless in NC?
Exactly right !!!
Sell your properties and donate that money to NC.
