Ford Rival Honda Debuts 0 Series Sedan, SUV EVs

Ford ditched sedans in North America a few years ago, but as Ford Authority reported last August, the automaker’s under-development low-cost EV platform could potentially underpin a new all-electric sedan at some point in the future. That’s far from a certainty, but in the meantime, The Blue Oval’s rivals continue to roll out new EV sedans and crossovers, with Honda being the latest after pulling the covers off its 0 Series sedan and SUV at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

It’s been roughly a year since the Honda Saloon concept debuted, and now, the automaker has unveiled a pair of new prototypes – the 0 Saloon and 0 SUV – with the former looking quite a lot like the previously-revealed concept. Honda says that production versions of both vehicles are slated to launch in North America in 2026, starting with the SUV and later, the Saloon, and both will be built at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio.

Both Honda 0 Series models feature some truly distinct styling in the form of some very wedge-like designs in the rear, specifically, as well as cameras in place of side mirrors to help in terms of visibility. The interiors of each concept are dominated by screens used for the gauge cluster, infotainment, front passenger, and side cameras, along with a yoke-style steering wheel and essentially zero physical controls.

Otherwise, it’s very much unclear what we can expect from the Honda 0 Series duo – including what kind of electric motor(s), battery packs, range, and output they might offer. Honda did say that both will be capable of Level 3 autonomous driving, and each will utilize a steer-by-wire system, as well as the next-generation operating system dubbed ASIMO OS. Otherwise, the Honda 0 Saloon and 0 SUV are set to join a bevy of new products in the automaker’s lineup – including a Prelude revival – though at the same time, Honda is also in the midst of merger talks with Nissan, further muddying its future product map.

  1. Good grief!! They decided to observe what Tesla did with the Cyber Truck and then went full blast to design and produce even more absolutely hideous vehicles,
