Ford Takes Additional Actions To Help Greater LA Community

A little over a week ago, Ford CEO Jim Farley announced that The Blue Oval was “mobilizing to help support the recovery” of those impacted by fires in the greater Los Angeles, California area that have thus far wreaked havoc in that part of the country. This came as no surprise given the fact that Ford has historically been quick to respond to natural disasters not only in the U.S., but also, other parts of the world where it builds and sells vehicles. Now, Farley has announced that Ford will take additional actions to help those affected by those same fires.

Ford has launched a handful of new recovery efforts for those that reside within the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Designated Disaster Area, starting with 120-day payment deferrals for Ford Credit customers. Additionally, those that are in need of a new vehicle and qualify can purchase a select 2024-2025 Ford model and receive employee pricing, now through the end of March.

Ford EV owners that can’t charge at home or use a local dealer to do so can receive reimbursement for using a BlueOval Charging Network location within the designated FEMA disaster area through the end of January, too. For customers that don’t yet have an NACS adapter needed to use Tesla’s Superchargers, Ford dealers will be distributing a select number of free units to customers, while the automaker is working to expedite the shipment of adapters to those that have an existing reservation for one. Finally, those that have received a Ford Power Promise home charger will be getting a free replacement for both the charger and a standard installation if those customers lost their home in the fire.

“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the devastating fires in Southern California,” the automaker said in the statement. “Ford has always been dedicated to supporting communities, and we are committed to standing by the Los Angeles area now and in the days ahead.”

    1. I come from a Ford family too. I was born in Dearborn. I appreciate what Ford and Mr. Farley are doing for the people in California. I now live in NC and I can tell you this, the people in NC need help too. The government has done very little for the people. Their towns and cities were washed away during the floods and hurricane. Those people still have no water or electricity.
There are lines over three miles long waiting to refill their propane gas tanks so they can run portable heaters. You can’t believe the amount of devastation up in the Boone and Asheville areas.
