Raj Nair spent decades at Ford, rising to the ranks of President of the company’s North American operations before he was dismissed in 2018 due to “behavior inconsistent with the company’s code of conduct.” Before that, Nair had served as Chief Technical Officer and Executive Vice President of Product Development at Ford, and was instrumental in the Ford GT program as well. Shortly thereafter, Raj Nair became President and Chief Operating Officer of Multimatic Motorsports – which has long been a partner of The Blue Oval’s – and now, he’s set to take on another role in the automotive industry.
That role is CEO of Singer, which creates high-dollar restomod versions of vintage Porsche 911 models, the company has announced. Nair certainly has plenty of experience not only the automotive realm as a whole, but also, when it comes to sports cars, specifically. In fact, he had a major hand not only in developing the Ford GT, but also the Mercedes-AMG ONE, Ford Mustang GTD, and Porsche 963 LMDh during his time at Multimatic.
“I’ve watched from afar as Singer arrived on the automotive scene, defined a new sector and built a brand that has influenced the whole industry,” Nair said of his new role. “My experience over more than 35 years has been all about making great cars and great companies even better and I’m tremendously excited about continuing that work at Singer.”
“We’re glad we could persuade Raj to join us,” said Singer Founder, Executive Chairman, and Creative Director, Rob Dickinson. “His expertise and proven governorship in key areas will help us get where we want to go. He’ll join Maz [Mazen Fawaz, Chief Strategy Officer] and I in leading the company, with a focus on operations while we obsess about the cars and the vision for Singer’s future. What we have up our sleeves is exciting and with Raj by our side we look forward to showing the world what we do next.”
