Here’s What’s Standard On The Cheaper 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo

Not only did the refreshed 2025 Ford Maverick get an updated front fascia and cockpit, it gained a brand-new, high-performance trim level called Lobo. But while the Maverick is largely known for being an affordable and compact alternative to larger and pricier pickups, the Maverick Lobo broke that mold with a relatively expensive starting price. The good news, though is that the Maverick Lobo doesn’t have to be that pricey; in fact, the standard Lobo model is packed with more than enough content to make it an attractive buy.

The 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo offers an aesthetic upgrade compared to the rest of the Maverick lineup. Highlights include the 19-inch “Turbofan” styled black-painted aluminum wheels, which are a throwback design reminiscent of classic pickups throughout The Blue Oval’s history. Blacked-out Ford oval badges can be found in both the front and the rear, while a black-painted roof gives it a more sinister profile.

Up front, it gets standard fog lamps and LED projector headlamps with LED signature accent lighting, while a painted grille accent bar delivers a point of visual interest when viewing the pickup head-on. The front fascia itself features a unique design with a set of lower intakes reminiscent of a race car. It features body color door handles and painted rockers, while its body color accents are also found in its rear bumper, which is adorned with LED taillamps, to boot.

Under the hood, the 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo features the turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost I4 engine, which is mated to the seven-speed automatic transmission lifted right from the Ford Edge ST. Four-wheel-drive (4WD) is standard, and it even features electronic sound enhancement to make it sound as mean as can be, along with enhanced brakes, paddle shifters, a performance tuned steering, and a tuned suspension. Inside, it gets accent stitching throughout, along with the Ford CoPilot360 1.0 suite.

The 2025 Ford Maverick Lobo debuted exclusively with the Lobo 702A Equipment Group, which starts at $40,495, excluding destination freight charges (DFC). However, The Blue Oval recently announced that a more affordable variant would debut as of Job 2 production in February 2025, bringing the Lobo 402A Equipment Group to the stage with a $35,100 starting price tag.

  1. EN Ford came out with the Maverick, they could build them fasr enough. I ordered my Maverrick XLT on Oct 27, 2021 and I got it on Oct 20, 2022. I love my hybrid engine and everyone I talk to that have bought the hybrid Maverick, love them. You did a great job building an affordable truck that is comfortable and fun to drive. It also serves all my needs, carrying my alpine skis, 2 kayaks, my bike and everything else I need to carry. With everything Ford did to produce an affordable truck at the right size and the right price, why are they changing to the simplicity of a great product to another truck that is over priced with features that do nothing to increase the the value of your original idea at an offordable price?
