The late, great Ken Block was a Blue Oval fan to the core, and as such, he owned a number of amazing Ford-based builds over the years – including his 1977 Ford F-150 known as “Hoonitruck.” This wild machine starred in Climbkhana Two, Gymkhana Ten, and The Gymkhana Files, racking up over 75 million views on YouTube in the process, though it went up for sale back in 2021 with an eye-opening asking price of $1.1 million. Now, the Hoonitruck is set to be sold yet again, this time, via Barrett-Jackson’s flagship auction.
That auction will take place in Scottsdale, Arizona later this month, where the Hoonitruck will serve as one of many enticing offerings. This time, the special F-150 is being sold with no reserve, so it’ll be interesting to see what bidders are willing to shell out for the privilege of brining the one-off creation home. That lucky person will take delivery of a machine equipped with a highly modified, Ford GT Le Mans program-derived version of Ford’s twin-turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine under its hood, which features a billet aluminum block and custom 3D-printed intake manifold, helping it send 914 horsepower and 702 pound-feet of torque to all four wheels via a Sadev six-speed transmission.
Riding on a custom tube chassis with aluminum bodywork and a custom ST/KW suspension, the Hoonitruck certainly doesn’t drive like any other F-150 on the planet. But as insane as it seems, the Hoonitruck is also somewhat practical, with features including a backup camera and tow hitch, for those times when the new owner might want to pull a trailer in style.
The Hoonitruck is just one of several Blue Oval rides formerly owned by Block that we’ve seen go up for sale as of late, some time after he passed away due to a snowmobiling accident in early 2023. That list includes the 2016 Ford Focus RS RX made famous in Block’s Gymkhana 9: Raw Industrial Playground, as well as a 1990 Ford Mustang GT he built to teach his daughter, Lia, how to drift in.
