In recent history, various studies have found that Lincoln owner satisfaction ranks at or near the middle of the pack, depending on where one looks. Lincoln ranked 21st in Consumer Reports’ owner satisfaction rankings in February 2023 with a score of 65 out of 100, but managed to improve slightly to 19th among all premium brands with the same score of 65 in early 2024. Now, Consumer Reports has released its latest list of the brands its members love and loathe the most, and it reveals that Lincoln owner satisfaction ranked average, but it still hovered closer to the top than in the past couple of years.
In the newest Consumer Reports most and least loved automotive brands list, Lincoln actually ranked seventh among all brands with an ownership satisfaction score of 3 out of 5, with 70 percent of owners saying they would buy another vehicle from that same brand again, if given the chance. Rivian topped the list with a score of 86 percent, followed by BMW (73 percent), Tesla (72 percent), Porsche (71 percent), Lexus (70 percent), Chevy (70 percent), Lincoln, Subaru (68 percent), and Genesis (68 percent), while Ford ranked tenth at 67 percent this time around.
The results of this latest study come straight from Consumer Reports‘ 2024 Annual Auto Surveys, covering over 300,000 vehicles. CR averages that data from the 2022 to 2024 model years (along with a few 2025 models), unless a vehicle hasn’t received any significant changes over that time span. Owner satisfaction scores are based on the percentage of owners who responded “definitely yes” to the question “would you buy the same vehicle if you had to do it all over again?”
In terms of individual categories, Lincoln did manage to rank among the most satisfying brands when it comes to cabin storage, which includes cup holders, the dashboard, and the center console storage areas, but not the trunk or rear cargo area. Lincoln didn’t make the cut in other categories, however, which included comfort, driving, usability, and ownership cost.
