Service Mode Is A Must Before Jacking Lincoln Aviator With Air Suspension

The Lincoln Aviator offers the air suspension feature, which makes entry and exit much easier, along with cargo loading, and can also deliver a smoother ride. However, if an air suspension-equipped Aviator needs service, it’s crucial to activate Service Mode before attempting to lift the luxury crossover on a jack.

As a reminder, the Lincoln Aviator air suspension enables the luxury crossover to automatically lower or lift its suspension when certain conditions are met, including while the vehicle is in motion. The system can also make vehicle height adjustments while the Aviator is also stationary, engaging when it detects a Phone as Key or intelligent access key.

If the system is not deactivated by putting the Aviator in Service Mode before attempting to lift the vehicle on a jack or in-ground lift, the air suspension system may engage while the vehicle is in the air. This could result in overinflated air bags, damaging the system and posing a safety risk to bystanders.

In order to safely lift the Aviator with air suspension, the user must access the infotainment system and navigate to “Air Suspension, Liftgate, and Easy Entry Features” through the display menu settings. From there, the system can be toggled on or off, allowing the Aviator to be safely placed on and lifted up using a jack. This must be done before attempting to carry out any repairs, such as swapping wheels and tires.

The Dynamic Handling Package (option code 67B), which includes the aforementioned air suspension feature, is optional on the 2024 Lincoln Aviator Black Label and 2025 Aviator Reserve, where it adds $1,700 to the overall cost of the luxury crossover. It’s a standard (no-cost) feature on the range-topping 2025 Aviator Black Label.

  1. Would you consider lighting the Lincoln emblem on the grill when the lights are on? This would be so classy!

  2. Sorry, I still can’t stand black Rims on anything especially a Lincoln. They look like they are missing their Hub Caps.
