The Ford Transit and its all-electric counterpart, the E-Transit, have enjoyed tremendous success in Brazil since the respective launch of both models in the South American country some time ago. This isn’t terribly surprising given how popular the Ford Transit has been in other parts of the world for many years now, but Brazilian commercial customers are quickly discovering that the full-size van is a great fit for their business – ordering many of them as a result. Now, another Brazilian company – Smolka Transportes – is taking advantage of Ford’s subscription service in that country to add to its own Ford Transit fleet.
Smolka Transportes, based in São Paulo, has added a total of 10 Ford Transit chassis cab models to its fleet via the Ford Go Frotas subscription service, which will be used to conduct last-mile deliveries by large e-commerce customers across São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, and the Federal District. Smolka already has over 400 vehicles in its fleet – including 100 E-Transits – and has doubled in size over the past year-plus, growth that has largely been driven by its focus on acquiring vehicles via lease or subscription, according to the company.
“The delivery vehicle market has an old fleet of 10, 12 years. With the subscription, we only use new vehicles, which do not give problems and guarantee greater service availability. It’s a great benefit for our customer,” said Eduardo Smolka, CEO and founder of Smolka Transportes. “It has equipment that really helps those who are making the delivery on the street and the levels of claims are much lower. Another point that caught my attention was the service of Ford Go Frotas and Ford Sinal. From the first contact to the delivery, the relationship was very good and close, without bureaucracy.”
“Our main differential in the market is how we look at the business,” Smolka added. “Having a well-trained and educated driver, who runs every day and represents my client’s name at the tip is what brings quality to the end customer.” The Ford Go Frotas subscription service enables customers to pay a fixed monthly amount for their vehicles, which includes taxes, registration fees, insurance, and various other costs with varying terms.

Bring back sedans not all of us want a SUV or Truck. Shopping with out a trunk for security is just not safe. Your purchases are exposed for all to see, be it groceries or other items.
