YouTuber’s 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Has Issues At 35K : Video

YouTuber John Ross from the channel WatchJRGo has owned his fair share of Blue Oval models over the years, many of which he has purchased in dire straits for pennies on the dollar, only to fix them up and get them back on the road again. However, one thing that Ross hadn’t done – at least, until a couple of years ago – was buy a brand new vehicle. After purchasing a used 2018 Ford F-250 Super Duty some time ago and falling in love with it, Ross ultimately decided to go out and buy a then-new 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty diesel, however. Now, he’s experiencing some issues with his truck after just 35k miles.

A 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel going in for service due to a ticking noise.

In this recent video, Ross explains his troubles, which he’s experiencing even with a low-mile truck that has been maintained and treated to the very best in terms of fluids over the course of his ownership. Regardless, Ross started hearing a loud ticking noise coming from the driver’s side of the engine recently while it’s idling, as we can hear in the video once the F-250 is warmed up. Trouble is, the truck’s warranty expires at 36k miles, so he certainly doesn’t have much time left to rectify it before the repair could potentially cost him big bucks.

As Ross points out in the video, Ford issued a recall for select 2020-2020 Super Duty trucks just a few weeks ago, which addresses high pressure fuel pump failures caused by biodiesel deposits that can form on the pump drivetrain roller components. However, his truck’s VIN wasn’t among those listed in the recall, which is a bit odd. Regardless, the dealer wasn’t able to replicate Ross’ ticking problem, though it is going to fix his massaging driver’s seat that isn’t functioning properly.

This is just the latest of several automotive-related headaches that Ross has endured – and rectified – in recent months. He recently fixed his vintage Ford F-100 with a mere $5 dollar replacement part, and has been working on a 2015 Ford Focus for quite some time, too.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  4. Of course they can’t replicate the problem…. What else is new ?

Can they replicate the problems with the 10r80 transmissions that are all junk, expensive, a national hazard to anyone in or near one. and that ford know about but is just turning a blind eye hoping the problem will go away.

  5. How about all the defective cam phasers that are just about guaranteed to fail. And if you go to the ford parts department to buy a new set they will sell you the same ones that are failing.

Let talk about coolant leaks on everything ford sells, and no recalls ! WHY ?

  6. 6.8 litre v-10’s Broken valves, the head of the valve breaks off. The whole engine is JUNK after that happens. And its very common .
We all know about the defective spark plugs ford put in these engines and millions more, either the spark plug breaks into 2 coming out or they pull the threads out of the heads on the way out. What is ford doing… Nothing !

  8. Everyone knows how bad the CP4 high pressure fuel pumps are. You would think the dealer would just replace it before it destroys the fuel system. Ford does have a reputation for engineering junk. And taking forever to fix issues.

  10. All of the big 3 make nice trucks, although I’ve never been a fan of owning a ford. They look nice and have impressive numbers but that’s where it stops for me. All of the big 3 have their issues. From the ford’s I’ve owned (granted none were brand new) they all had plenty of problems. I would never own another, and this was before all of the stories about how bad they quality has become recently. I can’t imagine how bad they are now.
