1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC With Just 200 Miles Up For Auction

Though it may not seem that old to certain folks, the Lincoln Mark VIII has been absent from the automotive world for quite some time at this point, having been discontinued following the 1998 model year. For quite a while, the Mark series offered customers a stylish, luxurious, and comfortable mode of transportation, and as such, they’re quickly becoming sought-after collectibles, too. That certainly pertains to this 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC, which has been driven a supremely low 200 miles since it was originally sold new.

This basically brand new 1997 Lincoln Mark VII is up for auction at Bring a Trailer, and it has remained in the possession of one family since 2013. The seller notes that their family collected and held on to a few vehicles over the years, and this is one of them – which helps explain why it hasn’t been driven much at all. As such, its Midnight Black paint remains in excellent condition, which is also true of the 16-inch chrome-finished aluminum wheels, covering an independent air suspension and four-wheel antilock discs.

Peek inside, and one will find a tidy cabin as well, with just a bit of creasing in the Ebony Euro leather upholstered seats. The front buckets are power adjustable, joined by amenities such as automatic climate control, a cassette stereo, a trunk-mounted CD changer, and cruise control. The driver-side power window isn’t currently working, and there’s a chip in the center trim bezel, but otherwise, the interior is in great shape. Power for this luxurious coupe comes from the Ford 4.6L V8, rated to produce 290 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque and mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

Interestingly, this isn’t exactly the first super low-mile Lincoln Mark VIII we’ve seen hit the auction block recently, however. We’ve also come across a 1998 model with less than 300 miles, another 1998 LSC with 400 miles, and a 1994 Mark VII with 8k miles.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
