After vanishing from the U.S. in 2012, the Ford Ranger wound up returning to those same shores for the 2019 model year – albeit, as a larger, mid-size pickup, not the compact one that it used to be. In recent months, those last-gen compact Ford Ranger models have become increasingly common finds on collector car auction sites, with nice, low-mile examples seemingly coming out of the proverbial woodwork. Now, that list has expanded yet again, this time, to include a very nice 2009 Ford Ranger XLT.
This 2009 Ford Ranger XLT is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 44k miles on the clock, which is a relatively low sum for a vehicle of this vintage. The selling dealer just acquired the pickup from the original owner this month, and now, it’s looking for a new home. The Oxford White Ranger is pretty basic on the outside with features including fog lights, a spray-in bedliner, a receiver hitch, and a chrome grille. It’s in very nice condition, but did apparently suffer some sort of damage in an accident back in 2017, though it’s unclear what the extent of that was.
Regardless, the interior of this Ford Ranger is in great shape as well, sporting Medium Dark Flint cloth bucket seats along with a few amenities such as cruise control, power windows, an AM/FM/CD radio, and air conditioning. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.0L V6 Cologne engine, which was factory-rated to produce 207 horsepower and 238 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, sending that power to the rear or all four wheels.
Along with this clean Ford Ranger, we’ve seen quite a few examples from this same generation pop up for sale at various collector car auctions as of late. That list includes a 2009 XL trimmed model with 22k miles that surfaced at auction last August, as well as a 2010 XLT with 16k miles that was sold last May.
