Along with its Panther platform counterparts – the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car – the Mercury Grand Marquis has quickly started to become more collectible, which makes sense given the fact that large, V8-powered, rear-wheel drive American sedans simply don’t exist on the new vehicle market anymore. Thus, those looking to secure a real piece of American automotive history are seeking out these rides, and we’re seeing more and more of them pop up for sale these days. That list now includes this very nice 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis, too.
This 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Ultimate is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 20k miles on the clock, and it has lived most of its life with just one owner in Louisiana. Sadly, that owner has since passed away, after which the sedan was acquired by the seller at an estate sale, and now, it’s looking for a new home with no major flaws to speak of. The Norsea Blue Metallic paint remains in excellent condition, which is true of the 17-inch aluminum wheels and most of the trim, though one door piece is peeling a bit.
Inside the cabin, one will find more of the same with nicely-kept Medium Stone leather seating with heat and power-adjustable front units, plus a host of amenities such as an AM/FM/CD/cassette radio, power-adjustable pedals, a fold-down rear center armrest, air conditioning, and cruise control. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was originally rated to generate 224 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.
This is just the latest super-clean, low-mile, later-model Mercury Grand Marquis that we’ve seen surface for sale at auction lately, however. In fact, a 2004 model with 41k miles popped up for auction last year, followed by a 2006 with just 8k miles on the clock.
