Over the years, Shelby American has churned out its fair share of more stylish, better-performing examples of many Ford vehicles, including the F-150. Typically, the Shelby-fied Ford F-150 variants have consisted of both the road-going Super Snake and the more off-road focused Baja Raptor, each offering customers something a bit different to suit their taste. One thing these models do share in common is the fact that they’re typically built in smaller quantities, and now, one of just a few 2018 Ford F-150 Shelby Super Snake pickups produced is heading to auction.
This 2018 Ford F-150 Shelby Super Snake is number 58 of 150 produced for this specific model year, in fact, and it has just shy of 21k miles showing on the odometer. It’s slated to be auctioned off at Mecum’s Glendale, Arizona auction in March, and it certainly looks no worse for wear. It also sports a host of unique exterior styling elements including gray paint with black stripes, a Shelby body kit, 22-inch wheels, specially-tuned shocks, and a lowered suspension, along with a ram air hood and the requisite Shelby badging.
Inside the cabin, one will find carbon fiber trim, Shelby gauges, and billet pedals, but it’s what’s under the hood that will likely garner the most attention. That is the Ford 5.0L Coyote V8, which has been treated to a host of upgrades including a Whipple supercharger, a custom tune, a free-flowing air intake, a larger billet throttle body, bigger fuel injectors, and a Borla exhaust, all of which results in a lofty output of 755 horsepower.
It isn’t too terribly often that we see Shelby F-150 pickups like this one surface for sale, but there have been a few available in recent times. That list includes a 2019 Ford F-150 Shelby Super Snake that was one of 250 built for that model year – the first, in fact – as well as a 2021 Super Snake Sport and a 2021 Shelby Baja Raptor.
