Built in extremely limited quantities and slapped with a supremely high price tag, the 2023 Ford Bronco DR isn’t exactly a common sight these days, which is also due to the fact that it’s not street legal. This is, after all, a dedicated off-road racer that’s designed to blast across the desert at high speeds, and it even arrived at dealers in a body-in-white configuration, awaiting the new owner to choose a livery of their own. Regardless, we’ve seen a number of Ford Bronco DR models make it to the auction block, and now, there’s another one looking for a new home.
This 2023 Ford Bronco DR is set to be sold at Mecum’s Glendale, Arizona auction next month, and in this case, it’s features a matte blue finish – something we haven’t seen previously, among the many different colors owners have opted to apply. Otherwise, it’s basically identical to every other Ford Bronco DR – of which only 50 were built – meaning that it’s fitted with unique resin transfer molded fiberglass body panels, coupled with loads of suspension upgrades and 17-inch beadlock wheels wrapped with 37-inch BFGoodrich competition-use tires on the outside.
Inside, one will find a pair of Recaro Pro Racer ORV-XL seats, Sparco multi-point harnesses, a MoTeC data acquisition system, a Lowrance HDS 9 GPS navigation system, a Kenwood two-way radio, and a PCI intercom system. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, feeding power to all four wheels via the 10R80 ten-speed automatic transmission.
This Ford Bronco DR is one of a handful we’ve seen pop up for sale at auction as of late, a list that includes a body-in-white example, one finished in NATO Olive Green paint, another with a red, white, and blue vinyl wrap with Bronco graphics, a DR with a Stroppe Bronco-inspired livery, and another wearing Ford’s famous, color-shifting Mystichrome hue.

They can 5.0 in this but not the other Bronco’s. I understand this one is heavily modified but come on. Just find a way to make it happen Ford.
