The 2025 Ford Escape soldiers on after its 2023 model year refresh with a number of changes and updates on deck. Thankfully, its face stays the same, including its upper and lower grilles. Ford Authority zeroes in on the Escape’s face, outlining the different grilles offered on each trim level.

The 2025 Ford Escape Active features a blacked-out grille with a chrome grille strip up top, setting it apart from the rest of the lineup. The ST-Line Select and ST-Line trims feature a similar black grille with a chrome strip up top to connect the headlights, but the design is slightly different, with wider, more rectangular grille mesh affixed to the upper grille.
The 2025 Ford ST-Line Elite ditches the chrome strip in favor of a lightbar that bridges the gap between the headlights, highlighting the uppermost side of the grille. Finally, the Platinum and PHEV trims feature the smaller mesh pattern seen on the entry level Active trim; these models also get a lightbar up top to create congruity between the headlights.
Changes on the way to the 2025 Ford Escape include the deletion of the standard power liftgate, at least for Active and ST-Line trims, but it remains standard fare on ST-Line Select, ST-Line Elite, Platinum, and PHEV. Ambient lighting is also gone, as are the body color moldings on ST-Line series trims, and their aluminum pedals. Meanwhile, the Premium packages now feature ActiveX seating surfaces as part of their bundles. Speaking of bundles, Ford Authority previously explored all optional packages offered on the affordable crossover, along with each trim’s available wheels.
The 2025 Ford Escape is actually more affordable than its 2024 model year counterpart. Specifically, the base Active trim starts at $27,995, which is $1,500 less than the 2024 model of the same trim. On the other end of the spectrum, the priciest trim remains the PHEV, which is now $38,400, down $2,100 from the 2024 model year.
Production of the 2025 Ford Escape, which is handled at the at the Louisville Assembly plant in Kentucky, started on September 19th, 2024.

I seldom use fog lights, but I really hate the plastic plugs that fill the space when that option is not included. The Escape is a good example.
