2025 Ford Explorer Grilles: Everything You Need To Know

The refreshed 2025 Ford Explorer was officially almost exactly one year ago, ushering in a welcome update to the crossover in the form of a revamped exterior and overhauled interior packed chock full of The Blue Oval’s latest tech features. As part of its exterior updates, the crossover gets a fresh face compete with a unique grill for each trim level. Below, Ford Authority explores (no pun intended) all of the grilles offered on the 2025 Explorer.

Each 2025 Ford Explorer trim level gets a unique grille, making it easy to identify the model at a glance if you know what to look for. The base Active trim sports a grille with a black mesh insert and chrome bars as standard, while the ST-Line gets a grille with a black mesh insert, sans the chrome bars.

The 2025 Ford Explorer Platinum gets the Unique Grille finished in Satin Chrome and Ebony. Finally, the Explorer ST features the same black mesh insert as the ST-Line, but this maw can be identified by its red “ST” badge.

As Ford Authority previously discussed, the 2025 Ford Explorer also offers a number of optional packages, from the Active Comfort Package to the Ultimate Package and everything in between. There are also a variety of wheels on offer, depending on trim level, along with a colorful array of exterior paints across all trims – although it ditched two colors that were previously available on the 2024 Ford Explorer.

However, the 2025 Explorer is ditching its factory-installed Illuminated Door Entry Keypad for a dealer-installed option, which is an extra-cost option. Production of the 2025 Explorer will continue at the Chicago Assembly plant, and began in May 2024. Pricing starts at $38,670 for the new base Active trim, excluding destination freight charges (DFC), and it’s worth noting that certain trims are actually more affordable than the outgoing 2024 model year crossover.
