Coyote V8-Powered 1962 Lincoln Continental Up For Auction

Vintage examples of the Lincoln Continental have become quite popular not only among collectors seeking them in original condition, but also, those looking for a proper restomod, too. Continentals from the ’60s are a prime target in that regard for some very good reasons – largely because they’re incredibly attractive, iconic vehicles to begin with, and with the right modifications, they can be made even better. That much is on clear display with this 1962 Lincoln Continental that’s currently up for auction, too.

This 1962 Lincoln Continental is listed for sale at Bring a Trailer, where it wasted no time attracting interest – and bids. The seller purchased it a couple of years ago and subsequently sent the large, luxurious sedan to Bratt Brothers of Grandview, Missouri, who modified it in a number of ways. That included several parts of its Cognac metallic brown being resprayed and adding electric wiper motors, which go along with the already-present 22-inch Raceline wheels. The big Lincoln is underpinned by an Air Lift suspension kit with a 3P air management system, too.

Inside the cabin, one will find beige and brown vinyl-covered bench seats, along with amenities such as a Vintage Air climate control system, power door locks and windows, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Dakota Digital gauge cluster, plus an Air Lift control module and a trunk that’s been upholstered to match. Power comes from a just-installed, naturally-aspirated 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, which is mated to the 6R80 six-speed automatic transmission.

In addition to this Coyote-powered Lincoln Continental, we just saw another example of the luxurious machine with that same engine – a 1965 convertible – hit the auction block last December. Those two models join a wide array of restomods that have sold or will likely sell for big bucks recently, including a 1955 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan with a pre-Coyote 5.0L V8 under its hood.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
