The 2020 Ford GT is already a rare beast, but the Liquid Carbon Edition takes exclusivity to another level. With only 30 units ever produced, the 2020 Ford GT Liquid Carbon Edition is incredibly rare, unlikely to be seen outside of of a high-end collection or exclusive event. But one lucky buyer with undoubtedly deep pockets can now call themselves the owner of this rare supercar after it hammered at Barrett-Jackson last month, taking home the Ford GT formerly owned by Grammy nominated DJ Marshmello.
The 2020 Ford GT Liquid Carbon Edition is a statement that showcases the supercar’s craftsmanship. This $250,000 package transformed the 2020 Ford GT with a fully exposed carbon fiber body. DJ Marshmello’s Ford GT is practically new, with just 87 miles shown on the odometer, and its new buyer might as well have picked it up off the lot themselves – it still features the factory window sticker, build photos, owner’s manual, two master keys, and a plaque from Multimatic that denotes it as Build No. 5 of 30.
This 2020 Ford GT also features a clear protective film valued at $8,950, and boast a wealth of factory upgrades, including a titanium exhaust, 20-inch gloss carbon fiber wheels, Voodoo Blue mirror caps for $7,500, blue Brembo calipers for $1,250 extra, a leather-wrapped steering wheel for $250, and six-point harness anchors for $2,500. The winning sale included a matching carbon fiber helmet plus a VIP experience in Las Vegas.
Furthermore, under the hood, the Ford GT harnesses the factory twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine that doles out 660 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque.
While it was pricey when new, DJ Marshmello’s 2020 Ford GT fetched $1,760,000, making it the most expensive GT of eight that crossed the auction block in Scottsdale. For reference, the next-highest hammer price raked in by a Ford GT was the only example of the supercar to be painted Grabber Orange, which sold for $1.2 million.
