European Ford Transit Lineup Gets New Delivery Assist Technology

While The Blue Oval’s passenger vehicle business isn’t doing too terribly well in Europe at the moment, its commercial-focused Ford Pro unit continues to thrive and attract new customers. As such, with a fleet of top-selling vans and other commercial vehicles in its arsenal, Ford has prioritized that particular part of its business as of late, and it continues to add and expand to its list of offerings in that regard, too. Now, Ford Pro has launched a new piece of tech that stands to benefit Ford Transit customers in Europe.

That new offering is known as Ford Pro Delivery Assist, which automatically turns off the engine in select models, closes the windows, locks the doors, and activates the vehicle’s hazard lights when delivery drivers are making stops along a route. This new tech is available in van variants of the 2025 Ford Transit with EcoBlue diesel engines and automatic transmissions, as well as the E-Transit, and will also be available on the all-new, forthcoming E‑Transit Custom vans and automatic transmission-equipped Transit Custom vans.

The benefits of this particular feature are fairly obvious – it can help save several seconds of time per delivery stop, enabling more deliveries for customers in that segment. It also gives drivers and fleet managers some peace of mind by ensuring that their vans remain secure when those vehicles are left behind when drivers are dropping off packages, and also reduces the number of tasks that those drivers must remember to complete during their daily routes.

Once a driver has completed their task, Delivery Assist simplifies the process of driving away as well, since the van can be unlocked using the key-free entry system, after which the driver can simply press the brake pedal to restart the engine – and return the windows to their previous position. Drivers can also tweak the settings of the widows, hazard lights, and locks to suit their needs. “Delivery Assist makes the driver’s to-do list shorter, their journeys more comfortable, and can cut seconds from each delivery stop to help them deliver more parcels, faster. It’s good for both our customers and their customers – by taking away lots of tiny tasks we are helping to make a big difference,” said Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro, Europe.
