Each year, Kelley Blue Book hands out its Best Buy Awards after spending a considerable amount of time testing every new vehicle on sale in the U.S. The purpose of these awards is to highlight the vehicles that stand out from the pack in each segment in a variety of categories including safety, efficiency, technology, and value, to name just a few. Historically speaking, The Blue Oval has performed well in KBB’s Best Buy Awards, and that is also the case with the 2025 installment, which saw the Ford F-150 Lightning take home a segment win of its own.
The Ford F-150 Lightning secured a 2025 KBB Best Buy Award for Best Electric Truck on the market, which is the third straight year it has done so – notable, given the fact that this particular category was new in 2023, meaning that no other model has won one thus far. “It’s a three-peat for our highest-rated electric pickup, in spite of more rivals entering the arena,” KBB noted. “The thing is, we’re still struck by the whole Lightning package. The pricing is competitive, it’s capable of traveling a long way before needing a recharge, the tech is excellent, we love the spacious crew cab format, and it’s built by Ford – a company with years of experience making top-rated pickups.”
The Ford F-150 Lightning is just one of several Blue Oval models that took home a 2025 KBB Best Buy Award, a list that also includes the Ford F-150 and its win in the full-size truck space, as well as the Ford Maverick, which topped the compact pickup segment.
