As Ford Authority reported last week, President Donald Trump set a deadline for this past Saturday in terms of imposing 25 percent tariffs on Canada and Mexico in response to his ask for those countries to take action to halt the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants into the U.S. Trump also added that he was considering an additional 10 percent tariff on Chinese goods, adding to tariffs that former President Joe Biden slapped on that particular country in 2024. Now, those new tariffs are set to take effect on Tuesday, February 4th, which will certainly impact a number of goods, especially since Canada has now announced retaliatory tariffs in response.
In response to these new tariffs imposed on goods flowing from Canada to the U.S., the former country has decided to impose its own tariffs on goods coming into the country from the U.S. Those include $30 billion in fees levied on products such as orange juice, peanut butter, wine, spirits, beer, coffee, appliances, apparel, footwear, motorcycles, cosmetics, and pulp and paper. Additionally, Canada intends to impose tariffs totaling $125 billion on passenger vehicles and trucks, steel and aluminum products, and various other goods, and added that it could take additional action as well, if warranted.
With many automakers – including Ford – producing vehicles and other components in those countries and then importing them into the U.S., these new tariffs could impact pricing in a big way, which is also true of goods flowing from the U.S. into Canada, now that these retaliatory tariffs have been announced. Ford currently sells a wide array of vehicles in Canada that are built in the U.S., for example, including the Ford F-Series line of pickups.
Some have also warned that these tariffs could severely disrupt the automotive supply chain, and at least one of Ford’s biggest suppliers has stated that it will pass those costs down to its customers.

I’d say “Thanks, Don”, but it’s not his fault this is happening.
It’s the imbecilic, nipple-headed morons who voted for him, and those who didn’t go vote at all.
We knew what we could get, and the United States be damned, we got it.
A vaccination works against a disease,
and a vote works against a degenerate pervert.
But still:
Thanks, Don.
MAGA is what I say. I voted for him too after I was booted from the race. Thanks bud.
This article aged poorly and so did your idiotic rant about how bad your TDS is.
Sammy only Trump supporters have TDS……. Tiny D-ck Syndrome
Canadians already decided to not buy U.S. made products. Trump cannot avoid what he caused.
