Ford Mexico Announces Leadership Changes

Ford Mexico has undergone its fair share of executive shakeups recently, starting with naming a new president and CEO of Ford Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America, and the Caribbean – Lucien Pinto – who replaced the retiring Luz Elena del Castillo last August. Then, in November, Eduardo Alonzo, Director of Customer Service at Ford Mexico, opted to retire and was replaced by Blue Oval veteran Sebastián Casanova. Shortly thereafter, Ford Mexico announced some shakeups in its marketing divisions, and now, it’s making even more leadership changes.

For starters, Laura Castro has been tabbed as the new strategy leader of Ford of Mexico, in addition to continuing in her current role as Global Director of Operations (COO) of Ford Business Solutions (FBS). Castro began her career at Ford back in 2003 in finance and operations, and she has since overseen various roles in a number of global markets – including Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Brazil, and the U.S. – even leading the creation of the Ford Business Solutions office in Mexico in 2021. Castro was also previously the head of Ford Mexico’s Customer Service Division, where she implemented strategies that significantly strengthened its operations.

In her new role, Castro will collaborate directly with Ford Mexico CEO Lucien Pinto to develop and implement growth and transformation initiatives. In addition to this move, The Blue Oval also announced that Andrés Vielma will serve as the new Business Development Manager of FBS Mexico Center CX and Strategic Projects of Ford Mexico. Andrés will report to Castro and will focus on the development and implementation of new businesses for FBS Mexico and Ford Mexico.

“I fully trust that Laura and Andrés will do an exceptional job,” Pinto said. “This strategic change strengthens our position in the Mexican market and reaffirms our commitment to growth and innovation. With the leadership of Laura and Andrés, the future of Ford Mexico is promising!”

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.
