Ford Owned Michigan Central Announces Femology Partnership

Michigan’s iconic Central Station came back to life last year, thanks to Ford Motor Company, which embarked on a quest to revive the derelict building. Now, the station hosts far more than just Ford, though, with Femology signing on as the latest partner to set up shop.

Femology is an organization that supports women in business with a special focus on empowering female founders. According to its website, “This one-of-a-kind program also bridges critical gaps in support, funding, and community, empowering female founders as leaders in their own right.” The organization will now operate out of Michigan Central, where its headquarters are now stationed.

“Together, Femology and Michigan Central will craft an entrepreneurial experience that is unparalleled in its reach and impact, offering female founders the tools they need to drive their ventures to new heights,” said Michigan Central COO and Head of Innovation, Carolina Pluszczynski. “At Michigan Central we are building one of the most inclusive and equitable tech hubs in the world, modeling Detroit’s innovation ecosystem as a framework for national change.”

Meagan Ward, founder of Femology, will serve as Community Builder in Residence at Michigan Central. She will help businesswomen thanks to support from the Michigan Strategic Fund, part of the partnership between the State of Michigan, the City of Detroit, and Michigan Central.

“On behalf of Team Michigan, I am proud to see how our support and public-private partnership with Michigan Central is leading to exciting and innovative collaborations with gamechangers like Femology,” said Justine Johnson, Chief Mobility Officer for the State of Michigan. “Congratulations on this new partnership, which will champion female entrepreneurs and serve as an asset to Detroit’s innovation ecosystem.”

Michigan Central also hosts Henry Ford Health, Google’s “Code Next” computer science initiative, and Ford’s own EV division headquarters. Looking ahead, Bill Ford says that Michigan Central will feature a hotel in the near future, too.
