Ford Performance racer Vaughn Gittin Jr. has long enjoyed a fruitful relationship with The Blue Oval, and launched his own company – RTR (Ready To Rock) years ago as a way to churn out upgrades for the Ford Mustang and other models from that automaker. RTR has since gone on to enjoy tremendous success in that regard, and as such, it continues to expand its offering to include not only the Mustang, but also, a variety of other Blue Oval models, some of which are focused on off-road excursions. Thus, it makes sense that RTR just announced the new RTR Vehicles Off-Road Team.
RTR Vehicles has revealed that the existing Fun-Haver Off-Road Team will now join RTR Vehicles, the RTR Vehicles Drift Team, and RTR Engineering to form the new RTR Vehicles Off-Road Team, which will continue to tackle some of the biggest off-road races on the planet moving forward. In addition to those efforts, this new entity will offer new vehicle models, additional merchandise, and greater access to motorsports events and experiences for fans.
“Over the past five years, Loren Healy and I have achieved incredible success in motorsport by merging our efforts and passions,” Gittin Jr. said “Now, with exciting opportunities on the horizon, it’s time to sharpen our focus and fully embrace what lies ahead. Loren brings a unique perspective and unmatched expertise in the off-road space that we’re eager to leverage even further. And no, we’re not growing up – we’re doubling down on our vision to push the boundaries of off-road motorsport and make our insights and experiences accessible to enthusiasts everywhere through RTR Vehicles and our products.”
In addition to helping The Blue Oval develop the electronic drift brake feature present in the S650-generation Ford Mustang, RTR also recently partnered with Fox Factory Holding Corp to create pre-titled, pre-built vehicles sold by RTR, rather than the just the vehicle packages that it currently offers which are installed at Ford dealerships. RTR also previewed its first S650-based pony car – based on the EcoBoost – just last month.
