Ford Performance Ford Raptor T1+: Gallery

The all-new Ford Raptor T1+ debuted last July, adding a new chapter to The Blue Oval’s off-road racing endeavors. There’s a lot to love about the ground-eating off-road racer, and not just because it’s a podium-caliber machine – we think it looks pretty hot, too. Ford Authority puts the Raptor racer in the spotlight thanks to the following photo gallery.

First unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last year, the Ford Performance Ford Raptor T1+ was developed in conjunction with M-Sport. Its off-road-ready suspension is supported by a pair of Fox shocks stationed in each corner along with a front and rear independent double-wishbone suspension developed in partnership with that same company. Three-way adjustable coilovers and four-way adjustable external bypass dampers with remote reservoirs help keep the ride smooth, while the racing pickup rests on a set of 17-by-8.5-inch aluminum wheels clad in beefy 37-inch tires.

Under the hood is the naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V8 engine, an absolute powerhouse strapped inside the engine bay. In fact, the Ford Raptor T1+ was essentially built with that 5.0 ‘Yote in mind. After weighing all of its options, Ford Performance kept coming back to the powerful, reliable eight-cylinder, and the rest of the Ford Raptor racer sprung up around it.

Of course, while exterior aesthetics and drivetrain performance are of utmost importance for the Ford Performance Raptor T1+, the comfort of its interior is imperative, too. After all, drivers can spend upwards of eight hours behind the wheel and in the passenger’s seat during off-road events like the Dakar Rally. To make it as comfortable as possible for the long haul, Ford went with a set of cushy seats to cradle the driver and navigator.

The whole thing is wrapped in carbon fiber body panels to boot, keeping weight down while ensuring its exterior is tough and resilient. The whole ensemble is one expensive machine – in fact, it’s easily a million dollars to put together each one, but it seems well worth the price.
