Last November, The Blue Oval teased something that most didn’t see coming – the Ford Ranger Super Duty, which is pretty much what one might think, given that name – a supremely capable version of the mid-size pickup. Shortly after that teaser surfaced, Ford Authority spotted a Ford Ranger Super Duty SuperCrew prototype testing in Michigan, giving us our first look at what to expect from the new heavy-duty hauler. Now, Ford Authority has spotted a Ford Ranger Super Duty SuperCab model testing in Europe, too.
This Ford Ranger Super Duty SuperCab model was spotted testing in the snow alongside some other trims, including the Wildtrak, Raptor, and Tremor. Other than its smaller cab configuration, it looks a lot like the SuperCrew model we’ve seen previously, with camouflage covering the front fenders and hood, along with a snorkel. There’s also a unique grille flanked by familiar C-clamp shaped headlights, with an equally beefy-looking high-clearance front bumper and skid plate underneath.
Moving down the side, we get a good look at the wider front wheel arches with rear-facing lights present on this Ford Ranger Super Duty prototype, as well as its larger wheels and tires. As Ford Authority previously reported, the Ranger Super Duty will share some parts with the F-250 – including its eight-stud hubs (spotted on another prototype last December) and 33-inch all-terrain tires. Capping off this look is a flat bed in the rear that sports a protective cage for the rear glass, which is something that’s been present on previously-spotted prototypes, too.
The Ford Ranger Super Duty is designed to “do things that no other mid-size truck can do,” according to the automaker, and the stats it has released thus far seem to back up those claims. In fact, the Ranger Super Duty will reportedly offer up 9,920 pounds of max towing capacity, which is significantly more than the regular Ranger’s 7,500-pound rating in the U.S. Though that puts it on par with the Ford F-150 in some configurations, both of those pickups will continue to co-exist in Australia, though it’s unclear what other markets the Ford Ranger Super Duty might also be sold in at this time.

I think a Ranger SuperCab in North America would be a good way to build volume for the plant and offer a unique option. Deleting the (useless) rear seat would take out costs and allow lots of configurable options for tools, gear, pet carriers, etc.
Am I missing something? Is that not a Ranger SUPERCAB? Wouldn’t a single cab be a regular cab configuration, with whats pictured here clearly being a cab & a half or extended cab config. Which Ford has always referred to as the Supercab.
Exactly. Vocab shifting makes words lie.
Maybe Ford should work at quality on their existing super duty. My 2024 F450 has enough glitches for 5 super duty’s. Ford, you can do better!
That is not what I would call a single cab it’s what we Australians call an extra cab I am really hoping that they build a single cab to replace my PX single cab
The only truck I call a super duty is a f 250 with the V8 diesel or the 6.7 diesel not a Asian made garbage with a V6 eco or petrol small garbage motor just call it what it is Asian made small truck upgraded Ford mid size ute
