Back in December 2022, AC Cars announced that it would be reviving the iconic Cobra for a new generation, and one year later, we got our first look at the AC GT Roadster, after which the Coupe was unveiled last August, followed by the revived AC Ace and AC Bristol in October. Both the Ford 5.0L V8 Coyote powered AC GT Roadster and Coupe will be sold in the U.S., though it seems as if the 2.3L I-4 EcoBoost powered Ace and Bristol will not. In the meantime, the AC GT Roadster will be on display at ModaMiami in Florida next month for the public to check out up close and in person.
That appearance at the The Biltmore Hotel luxury show will mark the public U.S. debut of the AC GT Roadster, which comes ahead of first client test drives and viewing appointments. However, the first two years of production are already sold out, though AC Cars will also host reception appointments in Miami for the Roadster as it allocates the next round of limited production spaces. Joining the AC GT Roadster in Miami will be the AC Ace Classic Electric, too.
“AC Cars is well and truly back in America, and we’re delighted to be with our existing clients and to meet so many new customers in Miami,” said David Conza, CEO of AC Cars. “The GT Roadster is a celebration of heritage and modern engineering and, based on the response so far, we know it’s going to receive an unbelievable amount of attention over the coming weeks.”
Slated to be built in Sweden, both the AC Cobra GT Coupe and Roadster will be powered by Ford’s 5.0L V8 Coyote engine, which produces up to 655 horsepower and 575 pound-feet of torque, depending on spec, enabling it to sprint from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, and customers can choose between a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. However, the regular AC Cobra GT Coupe will be preceded by a special Clubsport model churning out 800 horsepower.
