Actor-turned-race-car-driver Frankie Muniz will return to the small screen this year, reprising his role as the titular character in Malcom in the Middle for a forthcoming reboot. That’s not going to be an easy balance, though. In fact, he’ll be quite busy throughout April, splitting his time between driving the No. 33 NASCAR Ford F-150 fulltime in the Truck Series and his acting duties.
According to a report from Fox Sports, during the month of April, Muniz’s schedule will be absolutely crammed. He’ll film for Malcom in the Middle on Sunday through Wednesday during the week, and then he’ll bail to go to the racetrack from Thursday through Saturday. Thankfully, Truck Series races typically run on either Friday or Saturday, so while it will be a tight schedule, he should be able to make it work – barring weather delays, of course.
Muniz already has one race under his belt in the No. 33 NASCAR Ford F-150. He participated in the season-opening Truck Series event at Daytona on February 14th, 2025, crossing the line in 11th place. However, because the winning Chevy of Parker Kligerman was disqualified, Muniz was ultimately credited with a 10th-place finish overall. His 2025 efforts in the No. 33 NASCAR Ford truck will continued to be supported by Ford performance, and his race truck will carry the colors from More Core Diamond Drilling Services and Nugget Trap as the primary sponsors for 10 races.
Muniz’s appreciation for The Blue Oval doesn’t end when he parks his race truck on Pit Road after a Truck Series event. He purchased a Ford Expedition Timberline late last year for his personal fleet. He’s also tried his hand behind the wheel of the Ford Mustang Dark Horse R in the Mustang Challenge at Circuit of the Americas (COTA).
Disney did not reveal an official date for the Malcom revival, but indicated that its four episodes will be released sometime during the 2025 calendar year.

Frankie would be wise, VERY wise, to stick to acting. ‘Nuff said!
