High Hopes For NASCAR Ford Truck Series Drivers In 2025

The Blue Oval is somewhat underrepresented in the Truck Series. But even though the NASCAR Ford F-150 race trucks are often mired in a slew of Chevrolet and Toyota entries, they’ve proven time and time again that they’re more than capable of rising to the top, taking the 2024 championship to boot. In 2025, Ford is hitting the ground running with a class of new faces (and familiar ones), ready to take the Truck Series championship home once more.

According to the preseason Power Rankings on NASCAR.com, Matt Crafton, a longtime Truck Series entry, is one of the most competitive drivers on the circuit. And he should be – he’s going on his 25th season in the division and boasts the title of the only driver to have three championship trophies under his belt. He’ll once again drive the No. 88 NASCAR Ford F-150 in 2025.

Layne Riggs, meanwhile, will drive the No. 34 NASCAR Ford F-150 for Front Row Motorsports – one of the two teams suing NASCAR – this season. At just 22 years old, Riggs is the only non-playoff driver in any national series (including Xfinity and Cup) t0 win the two opening Playoff races. Ben Rhodes, who drives the No. 99 F-150, has a penchant for winning the championship in odd-numbered years, so 2025 could mark his third series championship if he plays his cards right.

Unsurprisingly, Ty Majeski is near the top of the list for ones to watch this season. He’s the 2024 Truck Series champion, having wheeled the No. 98 NASCAR Ford F-150 to the win in Phoenix last November. While he had a relatively slow start to the season last year, he rebounded in a big way when it counted most.

Frankie Muniz, actor-turned-racer, will compete fulltime in the Truck Series, driving the No. 33 F-150 while lending his talent to the Malcom in the Middle reboot this year.

The 2025 Truck Series season kicks off next week in Daytona on February 14th, 2025.
