The all-new Ford and Lincoln Digital Experience software was revealed back in early 2024 after years of development work between the automaker and tech giant Google. The new software debuted in the the redesigned 2024 Lincoln Nautilus before landing in the refreshed Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer, and has since expanded to other models, too, garnering positive reviews from a variety of sources. Now, Lincoln Digital Experience, specifically, has won a rather notable award.
That honor is MotorTrend‘s 2025 Best Tech Award, specifically, in the infotainment category. MT noted that the Nautilus – which also won its 2025 SUV of the Year Award – has a “48-inch pillar-to-pillar wraparound affair that boasts clear, beautiful high-res graphics and is set at the base of the windshield, low enough that all information is visible without being overwhelming. The graphics, shapes, animations, and colors used are original, relaxing, and refreshing. It deftly avoids the modern tendency to cram as much detail as possible into every pixel, the screens’ placement and their functions a rare in-car example of focusing on the ‘user’ in user experience.”
MT also praised the Lincoln Digital Experience for the driver’s ability to customize the right half of the screen with trip details, weather, navigation, and audio info, with the potential to offer additional functions via over-the-air updates,” noting that the SUV’s abundance of screen space could have been distracting, but Lincoln managed to utilize the massive display in a way that doesn’t take away from the driving experience.
“This recognition isn’t just about the technology itself; it’s a testament to our commitment to delivering a simple and intuitive experience all crafted around the driver to make time behind the wheel more enjoyable, even when parked,” said Head of Digital Product, Model e, Ford Motor Company Alex Purdy. “Our team designed the Lincoln Digital Experience to allow customers to access their digital lives with greater personalization. Customers can easily use voice assistance, maps and their favorite apps and services. This comes to life through a beautiful 48-inch immersive panoramic display – helping keep information in the drivers’ line of sight with the highest resolution display Lincoln has offered – plus a touchscreen control panel in the center of the vehicle and buttons on the steering wheel.”
