Over the past couple of years, we’ve watched as a number of Blue Oval models have been stolen directly from Ford-owned storage lots. That list of vehicles has largely been dominated by one particular model, too – the Ford F-150 Raptor, a pricey and coveted high-performance off-road pickup that is clearly popular not only with enthusiasts, but also, thieves. Thus, perhaps it should come as no surprise to learn that more Ford F-150 Raptor R pickups were just stolen from a parking lot near Flat Rock, Michigan, too.

According to Metro Detroit News, “several” Ford F-150 Raptor R pickups were stolen from a lot near Flat Rock and Brownstown, but thieves didn’t make it too far before police caught on, leading to a chase involving multiple stolen vehicles that resulted in more than one crash. The large chase spanned multiple communities and began when police spotted a Dodge Durango that was also stolen, after which that SUV smashed into multiple cars.
One Ford F-150 Raptor R was also involved in a solo crash, as we can see in the provided photos, but luckily, no one was seriously injured in any of these incidents. Police from multiple agencies were ultimately involved in this effort, and wound up making several arrests as a result.
This certainly isn’t the first time we’ve seen a Ford F-150 Raptor R stolen from a company-owned holding lot – in fact, a pre-production pickup suffered the same fate back in August 2022, and several others were found stripped of their wheels, tires, and even engines around that same time period. Those are just a couple of instances among many, however, as thieves have been making off with regular F-150 models, Raptors, and various other vehicles for nearly three years to this point.

Many challenges now face Ford. A changing manufacturing environment and government rules on importing are causing “chaos” for the Ford team. So management lashes out at the Prez when in fact this self-inflicted pain could have been avoided. Just like repeatedly having new $60K VINS swiped from your your holding yards which could be avoided. You have taken our eye off the ball.
These thefts take abject stupidity to an all new level. How can Ford brass let this happen? Wow.
Raptors have been stolen for years. Will Ford ever figure out how to prevent this?!!!
With how EASY it is to actually OPEN the doors of these Fords, it’s no wonder so many get stolen, not just from the parking lots at Ford. It’s Ford’s responsibility to secure their over priced vehicles, not Government’s.
The electronics in these vehicles allow the pro thieves to just walk up and take them. And the lib judges and local lib administrations do nothing other than a slap. I have an idea, if your city is riddled with crime Trump should cut off all your federal assistance. ( you obviously don’t know what your doing )
Install a kill switch in the fuel pump circuit, Hide the switch.
Turn your front wheels all the way left or right and pull forward into spots so it’s harder to tow away.
Hide a GPS locator in it, and purchase a 357 magnum
I keep saying…FORD should be sued for failing to implement effective measures to prevent these thefts and the resulting carnage.
It’s a inside job.
