Restored 1976 Ford F-250 Ranger Up For Auction

In recent years, we’ve watched as the values of old Ford trucks have skyrocketed to new levels, a phenomenon that began with earlier F-Series models and has since moved on to later decades – even up to the 1990s and 2000s. However, Ford truck fans tend to gravitate toward pickups from the 1970s more than others, and for good reason – they’re great-looking trucks that are also quite capable and easy to modify, if one chooses to go that route. As for this 1976 Ford F-250, the seller went a very different route, instead opting to give it a full-blown restoration before auctioning it off.

This 1976 Ford F-250 Ranger was purchased by the seller in 2024 and subsequently restored by their shop, Devastator Racing out of Central Point, Oregon, and now, it’s up for auction at Bring a Trailer. That work included stripping down the finish and respraying it with a two-tone combination of Glen Green Metallic and Green Glow, which is complemented by plenty of chrome and a set of white 16.5-inch steel wheels with bright center caps that are wrapped with with 9.5×16.5-inch Super Traxion tires.

Inside the cabin, one will find the typical spartan setup that was common in Ford trucks from this era. Along with a two-spoke steering wheel, gauges, and a bench seat that’s been re-trimmed in green vinyl upholstery, amenities are rather sparse – consisting of a Pioneer CD stereo, rubber flooring, bright door sill trim, and a heater.

Power for this Ford F-250 comes not from the original engine, but rather, a replacement 360 cubic-inch V8, which has been upgraded with a four-barrel carburetor, a Comp Cams camshaft, and an aluminum radiator. The distributor, intake, oil pump, pistons, rings, bearings, and lifters were replaced as well, and the V8 is mated to a four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a rear limited-slip differential, with power flowing to either the rear or all four wheels. It may not be completely original, but this 1976 Ford F-250 is a looker that’s seemingly ready to cruise, and we don’t doubt it’ll attract plenty of interest at auction.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  1. Wrong grill and headlight bezels for a 76. Headlight bezels were blacked out on all xl, xlt, and rangers.
I ordered a Ranger in 1976 equipped with dual fuel tanks and a 390.

  3. The grill looks like it’s from either a ’73 or a ’74. My father had a ’74 F-100 which had a 360 and 3 speed manual.
