As Ford Authority reported a couple of weeks ago, a one-off 2024 Shelby Ford F-150 Baja Raptor R designed in collaboration with Barrett-Jackson was set to be auctioned off at that company’s flagship Scottsdale auction, with all of the proceeds going to benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation and the African Parks Foundation of America. This particular pickup is based on the Shelby Baja Raptor R already offered by Shelby American, but features a host of unique touches that make it different from the rest of that pack. As it turns out, bidders were more than happy to shell out big bucks in an effort to bring it home, too.
In fact, according to ClassicCars.com, this one-of-one Shelby Baja Raptor R hammered for a whopping $325,000, which is a staggering sum, indeed. Ssporting a prototype Shelby serial number, it’s powered by the supercharged Ford 5.2L V8 that’s been fortified with a host of upgrades that help it pump out more than 900 horsepower, along with a Shelby by BDS suspension system, 18-inch flow-forged wheels, and 37-inch mud-terrain tires.
On the outside, this one-off Shelby Ford F-150 Raptor R touts a unique hood with intake and extraction vents, power running boards with rock sliders and entry lighting, and a custom grille insert – plus a host of Barrett-Jackson logos and design elements that aren’t present on any other build. Inside the cabin, one will find Shelby-branded leather seat covers with red accents, a serialized dash plaque, and billet pedals, too.
“This particular truck has special Barrett-Jackson logos and design elements, making it the only one of its kind,” said Vince LaViolette, Shelby American Vice President of Operations and Chief Designer. “We modified the stripes and badges with Barrett-Jackson logos, much as we did for the 2008 Shelby GT. Inside, the Barrett-Jackson and Shelby theme continues across the leather seats, dashboard and floor mats. The truck is so unique that it has a prototype Shelby Serial number, offering more collectability.”
