YouTuber Shmee150 – aka Tim Burton – may love high-performance Fords, but even he needs a reliable daily driver. He’s used a bright pink Ford Transit Custom MS-RT, a performance-oriented variant of the popular van, for his day-to-day errands for some time, but the time has come to replace the vehicle with something newer. But don’t worry – he didn’t trade it for something boring and uninspired. He picked up a newer version of the “Telemagenta” colored Transit Custom MS-RT.
This new Ford Transit Custom MS-RT is one-of-one, as described by the selling dealer. That magenta paint alone makes it utterly unique, considering it’s not a stock color offered by The Blue Oval. It has a different propulsion system than the old Transit Custom, too. Instead of running off diesel, it’s a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) that features a 2.5L hybrid engine and up to 32 miles of electric-only range. It’s a real “step up” from the old pink van, featuring all of Ford’s latest tech.
Inside, the Ford Transit Custom MS-RT typically features blue stitching, but Burton’s brand new van was graced with pink stitching, giving it congruity both inside and out. He also opted to forego the prior van’s barn door rear end and instead had it fitted with a liftgate, complete with a sporty spoiler and custom rear valance. Its custom wheels are situated in front of MS-RT blue calipers.
The next thing, of course, is to take the new pink Ford Transit Custom for a spin. It rides “really, really, really nicely,” thanks to its independent front and rear suspension. It’s super soft and extremely quiet with almost no engine noise, a welcome upgrade over the prior Ford Transit Custom. Another unique touch is the integration of a dashcam into the rearview “mirror,” which shows a screen instead of a reflection, and only requires that an SD card be loaded in to save videos.
Burton is particularly fond of Ford, although some of his acquisitions are a bit more exciting than the Ford Transit Custom. He purchased a Ford Mustang GTD, and he recently packed up his Ford GT to ship back across the pond for an adventure in the UK.
