Supercars Ford Driver Cam Waters Goes Three For Three In Sydney

After dominating Race 1 of the 2025 Australian Supercars Championship, Supercars Ford driver Cam Waters kept the momentum rolling, securing two more race wins at Sydney. He’s the 25th driver in the history of the series to sweep three consecutive race wins, and only the second driver to score the maximum amount of points in a single weekend.

A photo showing the No. 6 Supercars Ford team gathered around Cam Waters' Ford Mustang GT. Waters won all three races in the opening round at Sydney.

Waters, who drives the No. 6 Supercars Ford Mustang GT, faced some stiff competition from Broc Feeney, driver of the No. 88 Chevy Camaro, during Race 2. Waters had to overcome a seven-second discrepancy between himself and Feeney in the closing laps. He caught the Chevy driver and tried to muscle his way past him, but the two race cars made contact on Lap 49. Feeney spun while Waters continued on with a redress attempt to rectify the incident. However, Feeney and Waters clashed again in the final corner, igniting a drag race to the finish – ultimately won by Waters by just a nose.

Race 3 was defined by late rainfall, but Waters was undeterred. The No. 6 Supercars Ford held control of the race as soon as the green flag dropped, starting from the pole and never looking back. Feeney and his teammate, Will Brown, did their best to track down Waters in the closing laps, but he kept them in his rearview and galloped to the victory, going three for three in Sydney.

“How awesome is that? That’s such a mega weekend, and such an awesome way to start 2025,” Waters said after Race 3. “I thought we were going to have fast cars this weekend, but not that fast. It’s awesome to be able to convert it when you’ve actually got a fast car. I can’t thank my team enough for giving me something this good, and the pit stops were good, and we executed well.”

Waters racked up 315 points over the weekend with his trio of victories and setting the fastest lap in all three races, a feat only matched by Supercars-turned-NASCAR star Shane van Gisbergen. Waters currently holds the lead in the 2025 championship.
