If there are two topics in this world that tend to be more divisive than most, they’re politics and automotive brands, as most are fully aware by now. Bringing up either topic is usually a great way to stir up a heated conversation at the least, or perhaps a more elevated debate of sorts, depending on who one is talking to. However, a recent study found something interesting in regard to both of those topics – it seems as if no matter which U.S. Presidential candidate one voted for in the last election, folks tend to have equally favorable opinions of Ford.
This study – recently conducted by Dr. David Hill and Dr. Stephen White of the political polling firm Hill Research Consultants for the EV Politics Project – includes the results of a poll conducted across the U.S. shortly after the election, and aims to discover how citizens feel about electric vehicles, in general. The study polled a total of 600 voters from families with incomes of over $50k a year, and was designed to capture around two-thirds of presidential year voters in the new and used vehicle market.
Interestingly, in regard to Ford, that select group found that there was essentially no difference in how those who voted for Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Kamala Harris feel about The Blue Oval. 68 percent of Trump voters said they have a favorable view of Ford versus 32 percent who were unfavorable, while a few more – 72 percent – of Harris voters have a favorable view of Ford compared to 28 percent who have an unfavorable opinion of the automaker.
Perhaps this news shouldn’t come as a huge surprise given the fact that Ford has long ranked as one of the more “patriotic” companies in the U.S., in spite of some stances it has taken in recent years that might cater to one political party over the other. In fact, Ford has ranked in the top 10 of brand loyalty consultant company Brand Keys’ Most Patriotic Brands in America study on multiple occasions, most recently finishing behind only Jeep last year.

It would be nice if some of the regulars in the comment section here (especially on any EV story) would take that to heart.
Not everyone who loves Ford and cars agrees with your politics or the current president. Lets focus on what unites us, not divides us.
Ford has been politically neutral whereas Musk is not. Tesla sales have suffered recently in the US and Europe.
