Unique 2009 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor Up For Auction

The Ford Crown Victoria has been a regular on various collector car auction sites over the past few years, and for good reason – cars like it just don’t exist anymore. Those looking for a large, rear-wheel drive, V8-powered American sedan simply don’t have any to choose from on dealer lots these days, as those models have effectively been replaced by things like crossovers and SUVs. However, there are plenty of nice and even unique Ford Crown Victoria models out there on the used market, including this 2009 Police Interceptor.

This Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor is up for auction at Bring a Trailer after spending time with a government agency in New Mexico – but not on patrol. Rather, this Crown Vic was used as a training tool for PIT maneuvers, which is why its bumpers were replaced with steel pieces previously. As one might have guessed, the subsequent owner proceeded to give the car a makeover, installing replacement bumper covers, doors, and fenders before respraying the whole thing with fresh white paint.

As such, this looks like a rather nice example of a Police Interceptor, with its signature black steel wheels, which are wrapped with 235/55 Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires. Inside the cabin, one will find gray cloth front bucket seats paired with a black vinyl rear bench, plus amenities including air conditioning, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a factory CD stereo in addition to power windows, door locks, and mirrors. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which in this guise was rated to produce 250 horsepower and 297 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

This is just the latest of many nice and interesting Ford Crown Victoria sedans we’ve seen up for auction as of late, however – a list that also includes a rare Cobra Vic, a 2001 model with 53k miles, and a 2004 with a mere 10k miles on the clock.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  2. Got mine right before they became popular again.

These cars will be collectors items someday.

When I say cop car you say?
    98-2011 Crown Victoria.

A symbol of our nation and they’re STILL being used as cop cars in 2025 all over the country because they’re just so darn GOOD.

  3. I can only imagine the sales success of a Crown Vic with 3.5L , AWD, Hybrid. Fun to dream !

  4. Ford considered making the Crown Vic indefinitely as a police cruiser-only platform, but the redesign and engineering necessary to meet updated safety and airbag standards proved too costly. They ended up going all-in on the Explorer platform, which is a good vehicle, but the CV remains arguably the best police vehicle ever made.

  5. I don’t have a Crown Vic myself though my father had one for nearly 30 years until his passing in 2021. I have a 2001 Grand Marquis which is pretty much the same car and I’ve had it for nearly 16 years. I’ve had chances to sell it but nothing doing. It’s going to stay in my garage for a while yet.
