The John Wick movie series starring Keanu Reeves has certainly become not only a fan favorite since the debut of the first film over a decade ago, as it has largely engrained itself in pop culture over the years. As such, there are plenty of collectible items related to the John Wick films that one can purchase already, though that list hasn’t stopped expanding just yet. Rather, soon, John Wick fans will be able to buy a diecast version of the 1969 Ford Mustang that appeared in that series, too.
This new 1969 Ford Mustang diecast comes to us in 1:64 scale from Greenlight Collectibles, which has released its fair share of Blue Oval-related models as of late. For now at least, we only have one pre-production sample photo to go by, but the pony car does sport a chrome-style finish that’s rather shiny, along with “Boss 429” script along the bottom. Interestingly enough, despite that and the fact that the car is referred to as that rare model in the movie itself, the big screen star wasn’t actually a Boss 429.
Rather, it was a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 that appeared in the John Wick series, which makes sense given the fact that only 1,359 Boss 429 models were built across the 1969 and 1970 model years, and today, they’re worth a considerable amount of money. Regardless, the pony car stars prominently in several memorable scenes from these movies, including one of the more iconic car chases we’ve seen to date.
When it debuts, this movie-famous 1969 Ford Mustang will join a few others that have become available in recent months, too. That list includes the Elite 64 Series Modified 1969 Ford Mustang from Hot Wheels, as well as the Spectraflame Bright Yellow 1970 Mustang Boss 302 that has been released as part of the Hot Wheels Red Line Club series on more than one occasion.
