The Ford Crown Victoria and its Panther platform counterparts were among the very last large, V8-powered, rear-wheel drive American sedans on the market, models that were all discontinued some time ago. However, those that still love that type of vehicle have plenty of nice examples to choose from on the collector car circuit, at least, and we’ve seen quite a few pop up for sale in recent months. Now, this 1998 Ford Crown Victoria joins that list with few miles on the clock and plenty of life left in it.

This 1998 Ford Crown Victoria LX is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 34k miles showing on the odometer, in fact, and it certainly looks like it’s been well-cared for over the years. The sedan is finished in Light Prairie Tan Clearcoat Metallic paint and equipped with power-adjustable side mirrors, tinted windows, a keyless entry keypad, and Police Interceptor badging that someone added. There is some damage behind the front grille and a dent behind the right headlight, but otherwise, this Crown Vic looks quite nice on the outside.

The same goes for the interior, which is equipped with Prairie Tan cloth seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, woodgrain trim, a cassette stereo, cruise control, and air conditioning, with just a blemish marring the headliner. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 4.6L V8, which was factory rated to produce 200 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque and was treated to a new fuel pump in 2023. It’s mated to a four-speed automatic transmission.

Ford Crown Victoria fans certainly have had their fair share of nice ones to bid on recently, aside from this stellar example. That list has also included a 2001 model with 53k miles on the clock, a 2003 with 8k miles, and a 2004 with an also quite low 10k miles showing on the odometer.
