2010 Ford Ranger XL With 6K Miles Up For Auction

Like quite a few other vehicles that are now more than one decade old, we’re starting to see more and more nice, low-mile, compact Ford Ranger pickups surface for sale at collector car auctions as of late. For those that didn’t bother to rack up a ton of miles on their pickups or use them as pure work trucks, there is a bit of financial reward waiting in that market, as we’ve seen quite a bit of lately amid rising prices. Now, this very nice 2010 Ford Ranger XL is looking to garner its own impressive hammer price.

This 2010 Ford Ranger is up for auction at Bring a Trailer with just 6k miles on the clock, which is a super-low figure for any vehicle of this vintage – especially one equipped with a basic work truck trim. The pickup remained in the possession of the original owner until just this year, and they clearly took great care of the Torch Red model, as there’s only one flaw noted on the exterior – an imperfection below the driver-side taillight. Otherwise, it looks as good as new for the most part, save for some corrosion underneath, typical for a vehicle that has lived much of its life in New York.

As one might expect from an XL trimmed Ranger, this pickup is rather spartan inside, with Ebony and Medium Dark Flint cloth seats and a few amenities – an AM/FM stereo system, air conditioning, manual crank windows, and rubber floor mats, but no real luxuries. Power comes from the naturally-aspirated Ford 2.3L I-4 Duratec engine, which was factory rated to produce 143 horsepower and 154 pound-feet of torque and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission in this case.

This 2010 Ford Ranger is just one of many that we’ve spotted on the collector car auction circuit in recent months, as the compact version of that model continues to prove popular with shoppers. That list also includes a 2004 Ranger XLT with 52k miles, as well as a 2009 XLT with 44k miles.

Brett's lost track of all the Fords he's owned over the years and how much he's spent modifying them, but his current money pits include an S550 Mustang and 13th gen F-150.

  2. The fact that this has a 5 speed manual makes this better. I had a 2008 Ranger XL with an automatic and it was just ok it didn’t have enough acceleration. I only had it for 1 year and got a hybrid Maverick which is overall a much better truck for me with better handling and a smoother ride. Not saying the Ranger was a bad truck but I preferred my 99 S-10 extended cab with a 2.2 5 speed that I had for 21 years which had a smoother ride and to me was just a better truck. Still an interesting find and the 5 speed manual is a much better choice and that is what I would choose if I had another Ranger. I still miss my S-10 which is well taken care of by my nephew. I do really like my 2022 hybrid Maverick which I have owned for 3 years.
