Ford Motor Company has recalled select 2023 Ford Super Duty pickups due to an ongoing issue affecting the vehicles’ rearview cameras. Affected units were not properly repaired as outlined by a prior recall for the same problem issued late last year.
The defect: in affected Ford Super Duty units, the default rearview camera image may not be displayed when using the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature.
The hazards: incorrect rear view camera image can reduce the driver’s view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.
Components: rearview camera, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Control Module
Affected vehicles: select 2023-2024 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 models produced between October 12th, 2022, and June 25th, 2023.
Number of affected vehicles: 355
The fix: dealers will update the ADAS control module with the proper software, free of charge to Ford Super Duty owners.
Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on April 14th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S17.
