2023 Ford Super Duty Lineup Recalled To Fix Incorrectly Repaired Cameras

Ford Motor Company has recalled select 2023 Ford Super Duty pickups due to an ongoing issue affecting the vehicles’ rearview cameras. Affected units were not properly repaired as outlined by a prior recall for the same problem issued late last year.

The defect: in affected Ford Super Duty units, the default rearview camera image may not be displayed when using the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist feature.

The hazards: incorrect rear view camera image can reduce the driver’s view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any reports of accident or injury related to this issue.

Components: rearview camera, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Control Module

Affected vehicles: select 2023-2024 Ford Super Duty F-250, F-350, and F-450 models produced between October 12th, 2022, and June 25th, 2023.

Number of affected vehicles: 355

The fix: dealers will update the ADAS control module with the proper software, free of charge to Ford Super Duty owners.

Owners should: wait for communications from Ford, which will begin on April 14th, 2025. The Ford reference number for this recall is 25S17.
