2025 Ford Expedition Ditches Three Colors

The 2025 Ford Expedition received a complete redesign, ushering in the full-size SUV’s fifth generation with a host of notable changes and updates – including to its exterior color lineup. While it gained two new hues, it left three behind, meaning they’re no longer available at all.

Those three colors are Race Red (paint code PQ), Iconic Silver Metallic (paint code JS), and Jewel Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat (paint code C9). Race Red was a fleet-only color, meaning it was exclusively offered on the XL and XLT trims for fleet vehicles, and was not available on non-fleet models.

Iconic Silver Metallic, meanwhile, was offered as a no-cost option on all 2024 Expedition trims except for King Ranch. This color was first introduced to the lineup for the 2020 model year. Finally, Jewel Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat was offered on all trims except for Timberline, but is no longer available on any trims.

The 2025 Ford Expedition gains Space Silver Metallic, a no-cost option offered across all trims, along with Glacier Gray Metallic Tri-Coat, which adds $995 to the full-size SUV and is available on all trims.

The 2025 Expedition is quite a bit pricier than the outgoing model. For reference, the base Active model starts at $62,000, not including destination freight charges, which is over $2,000 more expensive than what the same trim cost for the 2024 model year. The priciest model in the lineup can cost over $90,000 when properly equipped.

Standout features for the redesigned SUV include the new split liftgate, while it also gets the all-new off-road-focused Tremor trim. The 2025 Expedition is also one of the few models in The Blue Oval’s lineup to retain its factory keyless entry keypad.

Power for the 2025 Expedition is sourced from the twin turbocharged 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, which churns out 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque in standard guise, or 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet in the high-output version, which is included in the aforementioned performance upgrade packages.

Production of the 2025 Expedition, which is handled at the Kentucky Truck plant, is kicked off in early January 2025, as reported by Ford Authority.

  1. Get rid of the colors give us more grays and primer colors thats Ford new moto. Next thing you know they will only offer Black when Ford sees the take for the new Grays. Seeing no one really wants more grays and come to the conclusion that people only want Black or White after getting rid of all the nice colors.
